Event and camping information
Ticket Office closes at 10pm for booking in on Friday & Saturday, 3pm on Sunday.
Main gates open at Noon Friday 19th to allow for setting tents up etc. Gates open 8am each day on Saturday 20th, Sunday 21st, Monday 22nd August. Gates will be locked from 1.30am Friday, Saturday and Sunday. We ask you leave the campsite by midday Monday 22nd August.
Camping at Solarsphere is INCLUDED with your ticket purchase whether you are bringing a tent, a caravan or campervan.
Some of the terrain is a little hilly, so arrive early and choose your pitch wisely!
WHAT IS AVAILABLE
Onsite catering – (veggie options limited, you can always cook your own if camping).
Food such as, cooked breakfasts (inc veggie option), burgers, curry with rice or chips, generally a further one or two veggie options such as chili, curry or pasta bake for example. Baked potatoes with selection of fillings, salad pots, pasta pots, fruit available. Menu list displayed at catering counter, but ask staff if unsure of options. (This list is an example, all subject to availability).
Bar – well stocked and with real ales available too.
FREE showers in dedicated shower block
Wash basins in toilet area for brushing teeth etc.
A couple of porta loos in the top field and bottom field for night time use to save your legs if camping in these areas!
Drinking water taps in fields:
Top field (Antares) , located to right of the entrance to field
Family camping (Altair), located at top of field by driveway fence located at bottom of field by driveway fence opposite ticket office.
Chemical waste point (signposted in yard at top of driveway)
WHAT IS NOT AVAILABLE
Electric hook ups (please do not ask on arrival, we can’t create an electric hook up)!
Grey water disposal area (use the hedge or nearest drain)
Washing up area for pots and pans (bring a bowl, boil water on stove and hey presto) 🙂
Storage for medication. (This is your own responsibility).
Recycling – We do not have on site recycling facilities. There will be plenty of bins for rubbish, however, if you wish to recycle, please ensure you bring sufficient bags with you to take recycling home. We will have spare bin bags if needed at the Ticket Office.
WHAT SHOULD I BRING FOR A HAPPY CAMPING EXPERIENCE?
Aside from the obvious such as your tent/camper!!!……..
Gas stove for cooking with and to boil water for washing up!
Washing up bowl plus accessories such as sponge, cloth, tea towels, washing up liquid etc
Things you need to use for cooking, cleaning, eating, drinking!
An airer to dry your wet towels is always useful.
Torch. Plus a RED light torch for use in top field if you are joining in with stargazing.
RED light night lights if camping in top field with the Astronomers.
BBQ’s are permitted if RAISED FROM OFF OF THE GROUND ( Gas Only ).
Enough money! No cash point at venue. Nearest town a five minute drive though!
WHAT I CAN’T BRING
*Dogs (or any other pets) Only guide dogs are permitted.
Bright lights. We have to keep the campsite as dark as we can for observing purposes. Anyone found with inappropriate lighting will be asked to switch it off.
Sound Systems to play loud music at night. This is a family friendly festival. While we accept some music will be played, Loud music at night on the campsites will not be welcome. Curfew for music is 1am. Thank you for understanding.
